Dr. Zack Charkawi is a very unique
practitioner. He has been in the medical field since 2000 and is a
board-certified family physician. As a graduate from Ross University and a
graduate of Wheeling Hospital, he trained in an unopposed program that gave him
unmatched exposure and allowed him to focus his attention on procedural
medicine and dermatology. Dr. Charkawi subspecialized in dermatology for the
family at Wheeling Hospital and gradually mastered surgical procedures for urgent
care and emergency room settings. He relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he
worked in an urgent care facility part-time and served at Health Point Family
Care in Covington, Kentucky. The shortage of skin specialists and surgeons in
the area allowed Dr. Charkawi to diagnose and treat skin conditions such as acne,
warts, eczema, psoriasis, and skin infections. It allowed him to manage benign
lesions and skin cancers surgically as well. Dr. Charkawi served as assistant
professor in Louisville University during this journey.
Dr. Charkawi’s passion for procedural
dermatology blossomed during his 10 years of service at Johns Creek
Dermatology, where he is one of four providers serving our wonderful community.
He has treated and resected all types of skin growths and skin cancers. He has
worked up and managed conditions side by side with the dermatologist and many
skin conditions related to other medical problems as well. His understanding of
general medicine is invaluable for dermatology.
Dr. Charkawi has expanded his knowledge and expertise through the years
by attending highly specialized conferences.
Building on our expertise in hair and
passion for managing and diagnosing hair loss, he founded our hair loss
restoration unit. This unit offers cutting edge treatments for hair loss for
men and women of all ages.
Patients find Dr. Charkawi easy to talk to, very attentive, caring, and a thorough spot-on clinician. Men in particular feel very comfortable discussing their anti-aging needs as well.
