Hello To Cancer-free skin

Excellent customer service. Treatment tends to be conservative - eg, instead of going full on Mohs surgery as first treatment option, they will do a scraping, medication ointment, and reassessment. The liquid nitrogen freezing was very painful at my prior dermatologist and seemed to last a long time, but the nurse practitioner who used the cold freeze ray on me at this office was actually so gentle that I complimented her and thanked her. The doctor and all of the staff are friendly, listen, and don’t rush the patient. They are good at making you feel comfortable in a possibly embarrassing situation.

The union of pathology
and surgery.
Looking
for a specialized surgical procedure that can remove skin cancer with minimal
damage to healthy cells? At Johns Creek Dermatology, we use Mohs surgery, a
precise outpatient surgical technique, to treat skin cancer such as basal cell
carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma that are high risk on high risk areas.
During Mohs surgery, thin layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively
removed and examined until cancer-free tissue remains. We treat skin cancer on
face, skin cancer on ear, skin cancer on hand, skin cancer moles, all stages of
skin cancer, and more.
The
goal of Mohs surgery is to provide the highest cure rate. Mohs surgery is an
improvement over standard surgery. Our surgeon verifies that all cancer cells
have been removed at the time of surgery. This increases the chances of
cure. Our Mohs surgeon and dermatopathologist, Dr.
Shereen Timani, works with the Mohs surgeon, Mohs technician and surgical
assistant to ensure this surgery is a success. Compassion and professionalism
are at the core of Mohs surgery at our clinic. We operate in surgical units
that meet the highest specifications for a sterile and calm environment.
We focus
on clearing the cancer, but also take our time to achieve the best cosmetic
outcome possible because we care about our patients and understand their
concerns.
This
is why we even collaborate with a team of plastic surgeons we trust when
needed.
We
consult with each patient prior to the Mohs procedure to identify any special
preoperative requirements. Our practioners review the details of the surgical procedure
and postoperative care. All this helps make the patient and their family
members feel very comfortable during this entire process.
We closely
follow up, making sure everything is healing properly, and are accessible after
hours for any questions or concerns. In addition to providing the best Mohs surgery
in Johns Creek North Atlanta, we set a long-term plan
for skin cancer prevention and for body checks. Our journey together goes
beyond the surgery.
