What is the Restylane Line of Dermal Fillers?
At Johns Creek Dermatology we offer less invasive alternatives to cosmetic surgery with dermal fillers. One of the widely used injectable fillers by Johns Creek dermatologist Dr. Shereen Timani is the Restylane line, which are safe and natural dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Restylane products restore fullness to the skin to correct: moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds (the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth; marionette lines (the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline); the area above the mouth to the base of the nose; fill fine lines; and fill dark circles. Restylane Silk and Restylane are some of the few dermal fillers suitable for plumping lips and softening vertical lines around the mouth, uniquely formulated to create fullness and definition in lips with natural looking results. Restylane fillers are injected into the middle to deep dermis layer of the skin in order to fill superficial lines, providing natural-looking results with just one treatment.
Results last about six months. Restylane does not require any skin testing, unlike collagen based products.
How does Restylane work?
Restylane is specifically formulated as a clear hyaluronic acid gel formulation which acts like your body’s own hyaluronic acid, and eventually it breaks down naturally. The Restylane is injected using a fine needle under the skin, where it works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. As with other injectable fillers, you might experience swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness after treatment. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Younger patients may experience more swelling side-effects, while bruising may be more likely in more mature patients.
Our Newest Fillers: Restylane Refyne™ and Defyne™

The unique cross-linking of the gel in Restylane Refyne is also designed to help support your natural expression-for real-life results that help maintain natural movement when you’re smiling, frowning and even puckering up.
