What is Radiesse® Dermal Filler?
Radiesse Dermal Filler is made of a mineral-like compound found naturally in human bones – calcium hydroxylapatite. This water-based gel is regarded as the heaviest facial filler. In addition to having the efficacy to fill the deepest creases such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and frown lines, while stimulating natural collagen growth, Radiesse® can enhance the fullness of the cheeks as well as other facial contours. Radiesse® can also be used on the hands. It should not be used around the eyes. After a thorough consultation, Shereen Timani M.D., at Johns Creek Dermatology will help you choose the injectable product which is right for you.
Be Sure to Tell Dr. Timani
If you choose to receive treatment with Radiesse® or another filler, it’s important to tell Dr. Timani if you are taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or Warfarin. Also, it’s important to note: if you have had a herpes breakout in the past, you may experience one after the treatment with an injectable such as Radiesse®. Some simple precautions will ensure the best outcome of treatment with Radiesse®.
Radiesse Dermal Filler Side Effects
Bruising, redness, swelling, and mild pain may follow treatment with Radiesse Dermal Filler or any injectable. Dr. Timani will recommend that you minimize strenuous exercise and avoid exposure to the sun until swelling or redness is gone. Usually, this is a 24-hour period.
Each patient is unique; therefore, results may vary.
