Dermatology for All Skin Types

The four skin types: normal, dry, oily and combination
  • Normal skin. ‘Normal’ is a term widely used to refer to well-balanced skin. …
  • Dry skin. ‘Dry’ is used to describe a skin type that produces less sebum than normal skin. …
  • Oily skin. …
  • Combination skin. …
  • Sebum and sweat production.

We are proud of the comprehensive approach we take to your skin care. We not only accurately diagnose and treat your condition, but we also educate and involve you in the treatment process. Our individualized approach and state-of-the-art techniques have assisted our patients to enjoy a lifetime of healthy skin.

Our first line of approach is an examination of your condition, be it the skin, nails, veins or hair.  If cancer screening is the focus, Johns Creek Dermatology performs full-body skin checks to monitor for skin cancers and precancerous lesions. If symptoms indicate further evaluation, we perform specialized diagnostic procedures such as a skin biopsy, skin scrapings, bacterial and fungal cultures, or monitor with photographs and measurements. Specimens are examined under the microscope to determine the diagnosis, particularly if removal is under consideration as treatment. If indicated, removal of the affected area may be recommended using a variety of procedures. We are proud to have Dr. Timani, who is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology, to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and treatment strategy for a broad range of skin conditions.

Mohs Surgeon

Shereen Timani, M.D. is an Mohs surgeon who has been extensively trained in Mohs surgery. During the surgery she is able to see microscopically where the cancer ends. Mohs allows you to keep as much healthy skin as possible because the surgeon only removes the skin with cancer cells. This is especially important when skin cancer develops in an area with little tissue beneath such as facial areas, eyes, ears, or hand. Mohs has a high cure rate.

Cosmetic Dermatology

For your aesthetic skin care needs, we offer a wide range of quality skin care procedures to help regain a more youthful appearance — from facial rejuvenation peel techniques to neuro-muscular blocking agents Botox® and Dysport® to dermal fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm®. We also specialize in vein reduction treatments utilizing a choice of Veinware or Sclerotherapy technology. Dr. Timani is extensively trained and experienced in cosmetic enhancement techniques and has the ability to maximize your results. Plus we offer a full line of skincare products to help you maintain excellent results over time.

Each patient is unique; therefore, results will vary.
