Medical Dermatology

At Johns Creek Dermatology, we strive to provide access to high quality adult and pediatric medical dermatologic care, whether it be a treatment, procedure, information communication, maintenance products or other medical dermatological services.  Although cosmetic dermatology plays a significant role at our practice, medical conditions which manifest themselves in the skin is most immediate reason to visit Johns Creek Dermatology. Medical dermatology is the treatment of skin conditions, and the variety of skin conditions we see each have their own set of causes, symptoms and treatments.

Dr. Shereen Timani  is a  board certified medical dermatologist who focuses on the health of your skin, working with patients who have conditions such as contact or allergic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, alopecia, rosacea, sun damage, painful rashes, cysts, lesions, skin cancers, warts, acne and more. At Johns Creek Dermatology, we recognize that the conditions of each patient are different, and we are committed to offering individualized treatment plans to everyone, from rashes to remedial skin cancer procedures. Once Dr. Timani has accurately diagnosed your condition, which may warrant conducting a biopsy, the medical solutions available for treating your unique situation may include medication, topical applications, therapy, or surgical removal, depending on the specific condition. In the process of correcting the medical skin abnormality you may be experiencing, a bonus is that the appearance of your skin may be improved.  We treat your skin with the most effective methods available to minimize scarring, and work with you to establish maintenance programs to keep your skin in optimum condition.

As the majority of medical dermatological conditions are considered valid medical problems, health insurance typically covers the majority of costs for our patients.  As a preventative measure, we recommend you schedule regular visits to our office for a full body exam to decrease the risk of skin cancer.  Contact our office for verification of your insurance and the conditions covered.
